As dentists and their staff prepare to get back to practice, they can use the comprehensive Back to Practice Staff Training program developed by CDA’s COVID-19 Clinical Care Workgroup. The program provides a step-by-step guide to help practice owners prepare and facilitate a formal training session with their teams to navigate changes, processes and protocols when returning to practice.
On May 7, the California Department of Public Health permitted dentists to resume deferred preventive care to forestall an emergency, in accordance with recommended safety guidelines. The practical training program was developed using guidance from CDPH, Cal/OSHA, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and other regulatory and advisory agencies to ensure members implement the necessary protocols to safely resume care.
“Our members are faced with a lot of conflicting information on how to protect their staff and patients during this unprecedented time,” said Richard Nagy, DDS, CDA president and co-chair of CDA’s COVID-19 Clinical Care Workgroup. “Our goal with the new Back to Practice Staff Training program is to streamline this information into a practical guide that makes sense to our members and ensures they are adequately prepared to safely provide care during the COVID-19 pandemic.”
The training consists of a webinar to watch with the dental team plus agenda covering:
Those who complete the training can earn 4 units of core C.E. credit. Download the program materials and learn more on how to obtain credit in the Back to Practice Staff Training resource center.
